Jantel Lavender Named to Wooden Mid-Season Watch List
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior center Jantel Lavender has been named to the 2011 Women’s John R. Wooden Award mid-season watch list, announced Tuesday by The Los Angeles Athletic Club. The list is comprised of 20 student-athletes who, based on this year’s individual performance and team records, are the current frontrunners for college basketball’s most prestigious honor. – MORE –
Jantel Lavender Named Big Ten Player of the Week
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Jantel Lavender, senior center on the Ohio State women’s basketball team, was named Big Ten Player of the Week the conference announced Monday. Lavender recorded back-to-back double-doubles in league play vs. Indiana and at Iowa and average 19.5 points and 18.0 rebounds while shooting 53.6 percent from the field as the Buckeyes went 1-1 last week. – MORE –
