ATH: Ohio State Spring Sports Take Center Stage
Over the next week nearly all Ohio State spring sports programs will be competing in Big Ten and NCAA postseason tournaments with conference and national title hopes in the balance. The Buckeyes made a significant jump in the Learfield Sports Directors Cup standings after a successful winter sports season and the spring sports are looking to add to Ohio State’s national standing among NCAA Division I athletics departments. – MORE –

Ohio State closes the 2009 regular season at home Thursday through Saturday vs. Iowa. The Buckeyes stand in second place in the Big Ten, just a half game behind Minnesota. – MORE –
SB: No. 11-Seeded Ohio State Hosts NCAA Regional, Opens with Canisius Thursday
The NCAA Tournament returns to Columbus for the second time in three years as New Buckeye Field was selected as one of 16 sites for a tourney regional. The 11th-ranked Buckeyes have been awarded the No. 11 seed in the tournament and will welcome Canisius, BYU and Kentucky to their home field Thursday-Saturday. Ohio State (44-9) is the top seed within the double-elimination regional and will face Canisius at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. BYU and Kentucky open the Columbus regional action at 5 p.m. – MORE –

ATH: Ohio State Hosts Fifth-Annual Columbus City Schools Baseball Day
Ohio State and Columbus State partnered to host 2009 Columbus City Schools Baseball Day Tuesday on the Ohio State campus. More than 3,100 sixth-graders from 30 different schools attended an education pep rally in the morning at Value City Arena and then went across to Bill Davis Stadium where they watched several innings of the Buckeyes vs. Eastern Michigan. – MORE –
