The No. 14 Ohio State men’s hockey team opens postseason play hosting Bowling Green in a best-of-three Central Collegiate Hockey Association first-round series this weekend. The No. 5 seed Buckeyes (20-12-4/13-11-4-3 CCHA) and No. 12 seed Falcons (11-22-3/8-19-1-0 CCHA) will meet at 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5:05 p.m. Sunday (if necessary) in the OSU Ice Rink in Columbus, Ohio. – MORE –
BASE: Dan Burkhart is Big Ten co-Player of the Week
Ohio State’s standout sophomore catcher Dan Burkhart has been named this week’s co-Big Ten Conference Player of the Week. The Cincinnati native and Archbishop Moeller High School graduate helped Ohio State to a 4-0 record at the Kennel Club Classic in Jacksonville, Fla., that improved the No. 25 Buckeyes’ record to a flawless 7-0 on the season. – MORE –
