MHKY: Carlson and Sims Pick Up CCHA Weekly Awards
Sophomores Dustin Carlson and Shane Sims have been named CCHA Goalie and Defenseman of the Week, respectively, the Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced Monday. MHKY: Buckeyes Claim Ohio Hockey Classic Championship with 2-0 Victory over Clarkson
The tournament title is the second for the Buckeyes and the first since 2006. Buckeye senior forward Corey Elkins was voted the tournament’s MVP and was joined on the all-tournament team by teammates Carlson, Bishop and defenseman Shane Sims, along with Army’s Cody Omilusik and Clarkson’s Bryan Rufenach. – MORE –

Brian Olinger, a runner at Ohio State from 2003-06, finished the four-mile course of the Emerald Nuts Midnight Run in 18 minutes, 53 seconds, 8 seconds behind men’s title winner Sean Quigley, of Philadelphia. – MORE –

FB: Laurinaitis Is Inaugural Winner of the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award For Football
Three-time All-American linebacker James Laurinaitis, who returned to Ohio State University for his senior season in 2008 and led the Buckeyes to a fourth consecutive Big Ten Championship while being a role model both on and off the field, has been named the inaugural winner of the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award for NCAA.
