%^$Rain forced the Buckeyes inside yesterday as spring football practice continued at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.%^$

%^$”We went in full gear, but worked mostly on individual skills, OSU Assistant Head Coach Fred Pagac said.%^$

%^$Pagac likes the potential of the Buckeyes front four, which includes returning starters Brent Johnson (Sr., Kingston, Ont.) at end and Ryan Pickett (Jr., Zephyrhills, Fla.) and Mike Collins (Jr., Newark, Ohio.) at the two tackle spots. Rodney Bailey (Sr., Cleveland, Ohio.), who started six games at end a year ago, also returns. So does Joe Brown (Sr., Tucson, Ariz.), a starter at tackle in 1998. Brown, slowed by a shoulder injury last year, has moved to end this spring.Throw in Clinton Wayne (Sr., Brampton, Ont.) and freshman Tim Anderson (Clyde, Ohio.) and the Buckeyes appear to have excellent depth across the front.%^$

%^$The 6-3, 270-pound Bailey in particular has impressed Pagac%^$

%^$”Rodney has had a good spring,” Pagac said. “He has improved in all areas of the game and he wasn’t bad last year. He is playing with great effort and emotion.”%^$

%^$Pagac also is encouraged by the play of the 6-3, 290-pound Anderson, a redshirt last season.%^$

%^$”He’s a tough kid,” Pagac said. “I like that.”
