COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s track and field team heads to West Lafayette, Ind. this Friday and Saturday, May 2-3, for the Dave Rankin Invite hosted by Purdue University.
The meet will allow the Buckeyes to preview the venue in which they will be competing for a Big Ten outdoor championship at only a couple weeks later. Rankin Track and Field, the outdoor facility for Purdue track and field, will play host to the 2014 Big Ten Outdoor Championships May 16-18.
This weekend’s meet gets underway Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. with the hammer throw. Action picks back up Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with the javelin throw. The first running event, the 3000-meter steeplechase, is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start.

Last Time Out
The Ohio State men’s track and field team competed at the Arkansas State Red Wolves Open Friday and Saturday in Jonesboro, Ark.
Two Buckeyes were victorious on the weekend. Freshman LaMar Bruton took the title in the 400-meter dash in a season-best time of 46.88, while junior Josh Sabo won the 1500-meter Invitational in 3:50.18.
The 2014 Big Ten Outdoor Championships, hosted this year by Purdue in West Lafayette, will take place Friday-Sunday, May 16-18.
