COLUMBUS, Ohio – Thad Matta, head coach of the Ohio State men’s basketball team, introduced Dave Dickerson as his new assistant coach in a press conference Wednesday. Dickerson has been a part of the Buckeye staff for the last week and a half, but has spent much of that time on the road recruiting.

Dickerson joins Matta staff after five years as the head coach of Tulane where he compiled a 68-84 record after inheriting a Green Wave basketball program that had registered just one winning season during the five years prior to his arrival. Before arriving in New Orleans, Dickerson spent nine years as an assistant under Gary Williams at Maryland, his alma mater, and in 2004-05, was the program’s associate head coach. He helped the Terrapins to nine-consecutive postseason appearances, including five Sweet Sixteens, two Final Fours and one National Championship in 2002, and eight 20-win seasons.
