Columbus, Ohio – For the second week in a row, a member of the Ohio State men’s gymnastics team has earned Gymnast of the Week honors from the Big Ten offices. Jake Dastrup, who won two event titles at Friday night’s dual meet against No. 17 UIC, is the recipient of this week’s award.

Dastrup’s two event titles came on the floor and parallel bars. The Utah native won his first event title of the evening on the floor with a readout of 14.000. He then progressed to the pommel horse where he placed third overall with a tally of 13.700.

The redshirt junior closed out the night with a dominating performance on the parallel bars. Dastrup put together a clean routine that resulted in a score of 14.750 which is the fourth best in the nation.

This is Dastrup’s first-career B1G honor. His performance helped Ohio State knock off No. 17 UIC, 412.150-381.500.

Ohio State will take the weekend off before they return to action for a dual meet against TTUN on Feb. 4 at 4 p.m. ET.
