%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio–For the second consecutive year Kristy Dascoli (Sr., Bradenton, Fla.) and Monica Rincon (Jr., Lapeer, Mich.) have advanced to the second round of the NCAA Doubles Championship via an upset.%^$

The unranked Buckeyes knocked off the No. 26 team of Clair Carter and Llona Kordonskaya of Washington, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to the round of 16. The win sets up a rematch with rivals Michelle Dasso and Becky Varnum or Notre Dame today at 3 p.m. The duo is ranked No. 7 in the nation and defeated Dascoli and Rincon March 3 in Columbus.%^$

Last year Dascoli and Rincon defeated the No. 8-ranked team of Lucie Dvorakova and Daria Zoldakova of Texas Christian, 6-3, 6-2. They then fell in the second round to Stanford’s Laura Granville and Keiko Tokuda, 6-2, 6-3.
