COLUMBUS, Ohio – One current, one former and two future members of the Ohio State men’s gymnastics team are set to compete at the 2015 P&G Championships Aug. 14 and 16 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. Sean Melton, former Buckeye Brandon Wynn, and incoming freshmen Alec Yoder and Tristan Burke will participate in the two-day competition that serves as the USA Gymnastics national championship.
Melton, Wynn and Yoder will challenge the 35-man field at the senior level, a collection of athletes featuring former national, world and Olympic medalists. Burke is competing in the 16-18 age group at the junior level.

Melton, the 2014 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and two-event Big Ten champion, earned a bronze medal in the all-around and team gold with the U.S. National Team at the Senior Pan American Games after finishing 11th in the all-around at the 2014 P&G championships. He made his return to the gym at the U.S. National Qualifier in July after missing most of last season due to injury, finishing fourth in the all-around competition with a total score of 87.750.
Wynn, a two-time NCAA champion and All-American for the Buckeyes from 2008-2011, is a four-time U.S. national champion on rings. A member of the U.S. Senior National Team and Team Hilton HHonors, he is coached by Buckeye assistant Casimiro Suarez. Wynn finished just ahead of Melton in the all-around at the National Qualifier, taking third overall with a score of 87.950.
Yoder, a current member of the U.S. Senior National Team, will be competing in his hometown of Indianapolis. Set to join the Buckeyes this fall, Yoder finished eighth in the all-around at Winter Cup and was the 2014 U.S. Junior Olympics national champion. He also placed third in the all-around at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.
Burke, a current U.S. Junior National Team member, is a native of Royse City, Texas. The 2014 U.S. Junior national champion, Burke was fourth in the all-around at the 2015 Junior Olympic National Championships.
Current Buckeye Jake Martin also qualified for P&Gs after a 14th-place finish in the all-around at the U.S. National Qualifier but elected not to compete as he continues to prepare for the 2016 season.
The 2015 P&G Gymnastics Championships will be broadcast throughout the weekend on the networks of NBC. Day one of men’s competition will air live on Universal Sports from 8-10 p.m. ET Friday and tape-delayed Saturday from 1-3 a.m. ET on NBCSN. The second and final day of competition airs live from 3-4:30 p.m. ET Sunday on NBC. All sessions will be streamed live on pgchamps.com/live.
