COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s Justin Cook was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week earlier this week, while a trio of Buckeyes, Eric Schwebach, Peter Withers and Jim Fisher, have been nominated for Academic All-America honors by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

Cook (Sr., Winter Springs, Fla./Oviedo) registered his first career hat trick last Sunday in Ohio State’s 3-0 win at No. 20 Penn State. The win was Ohio State’s first over a ranked team since a 3-2 double-overtime win at No. 5 St. John’s on Oct. 28, 2001, and gave OSU head coach John Bluem his school-record 73rd career victory. After a goal and an assist this past Wednesday in the Buckeyes’ 2-1 win at Oakland, Cook has 30 career goals and 15 career assists. His 75 career points ranks third in OSU history.

Schwebach (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie), Withers (Sr., Portland, Ore./Jesuit) and Fisher (So., Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) are all starters for the Buckeyes and have grade point averages over 3.2. Schwebach is a business major, Withers is majoring in international business and Fisher is a finance major. CoSIDA will announce Academic All-District honorees in three weeks, with first-team selections being eligible for Academic All-America honors.

Ohio State is currently 7-4-2 overall and 3-0-0 in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes host Indiana (10-3-1, 4-1-0 Big Ten) Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
