COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s Drew Cheezum and Remington Lyman have each been selected to compete in the 2015 NCAA Rifle Championship which will be hosted by the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the championships will be held March 13-14.
Cheezum, a freshman from Centreville, Md., is coming off his best performance of the season at the NCAA Qualifier last weekend. He shot a season-best 582 in the smallbore and tied his season-best with a 591 in the air rifle. Both scores were team-highs. He will participate in both competitions at the championships.
Lyman, who is a junior from Meriden, Conn., has been one of the Buckeyes’ most consistent shooters this season. Like Cheezem, he shot a season-best in the smallbore at the NCAA Qualifier, notching a score of 581. That tied his score from the opening event of the season at Ole Miss. Lyman will be competing in just the smallbore competition.
The smallbore championship is slated for Friday, March 13, while the air rifle competition will take place on Saturday, March 14.
