Cassie Dickerson was a three-year letterwinner for the Ohio State women’s soccer team from 2008-10. Now a volunteer assistant coach and director of player development for the Buckeyes, Dickerson battled back from multiple knee injuries to captain the Buckeyes three times.
Dickerson garnered NSCAA first team All-America and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year laurels in 2010, when she started all 24 matches, anchoring a defense that recorded 12 shutouts, while helping the Buckeyes to a Big Ten Championship and the NCAA College Cup for the first time in program history.
The Kalamazoo, Mich., native was named first team All-Big Ten and NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region in 2009 and 2010 and was a 2010 semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy. Dickerson also was a winner of the 2010 Big Ten Medal of Honor, which recognizes the athlete in the graduating class who has attained the greatest proficiency in both academics and athletics, and was subsequently the Big Ten’s nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year.
