CAMP DESCRIPTION

The Ohio State Swim Camp is directed by the Ohio State University coaching staff with a focus placed on skill development, improving stroke technique and having fun in an elite, positive learning environment for campers, age 8-18. The residential option is open to any and all campers entering grades 5 – 12 as of the Fall of 2018. The camp features individualized instruction and analysis, a combination of in-water, dryland and strength training exercises, and classroom work. To enhance the overall camp experience of all participants, it is highly recommended (but not required) that campers have competitive swimming experience prior to attending.

Considered the premier collegiate competition pool in the country, camp is held in the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, which was officially dedicated in 2005, and most recently hosted the USA Swimming Winter National Championships in December 2017. In 2018, the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion will host the Women’s B1G Swimming and Diving Championships, the Women’s NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships and the TYR Pro Series event. The McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion can be configured to support long-course meter training, short course meter training or short course yards training with a separate diving well/spa on deck.

ENROLLMENT
The fee for this camp is $400 for overnight campers and $300 for day campers. The Athletic Training Summer Camp is open to any and all participants entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2018. Full payment is required at the time of online registration. A 3% processing fee will be added to all online registrations. If registering by mail, please make checks payable to The Ohio State University. Any non-scholastic group of 5 or more that wishes to pay with one check for the entire group must do so ahead of time via mail. Any non-scholastic organization with a group of 5 or more registering the day of the camp must pay with credit card, cash, or money order. No exceptions will be made.

ENROLLMENT
The Summer Camps are open to any and all ages 8-18. The overnight option is only available to campers entering grades 5-12 in the Fall of 2018, no exceptions. The registration fee for commuter campers is $625 per session and includes supervision, facility use, camp t-shirt and cap, and lunches Monday-Thursday. The registration fee for residential campers is $750 per session and includes room and board, supervision, facility use, camp t-shirt and camp, and all meals beginning with dinner on the first day and ending with breakfast on the last day. A $150 non-refundable deposit per session is required to reserve a participant’s enrollment. There is a maximum number of campers permitted in each session, so register early! DISCOUNTS
Discounts are not available through online registration. Discounts cannot be combined. If registering as a group, all registrations must be submitted together, along with payment, by mail. Please make checks payable to The Ohio State University.
GROUP DISCOUNT: Groups of 8 or more may receive a discount of $75 off each camper’s registration fee.
SIBLING DISCOUNT: When one individual attends a 2018 Swimming Summer Camp, each additional sibling from the same family may be eligible for a $100 discount for the same session.

EQUIPMENT
Campers are responsible for bringing their own equipment. Equipment will not be provided to ANY camper. All campers should bring a swimsuit, cap, goggles, training equipment (kickboard, pull buoy, fins), towels, a water bottle, toiletries, bed linens, an alarm clock, clothes (including t-shirts, shorts, and athletic shoes for dryland sessions). We recommend bringing a modest amount of spending money to use for pizza in the evening or for the camp store.

REQUIRED FORMS FOR PARTICIPATION
The Parent Consent, Waiver & Release Form AND the Concussion Information Form are REQUIRED for all participants. Please visit OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps to obtain these forms. Please complete, sign and send the forms with your child to check-in – do not send the forms to us prior to the date of camp. Athletes will not be permitted to participate without these forms.

CONFIRMATION
Upon processing of each registration, a confirmation notice will be sent by email. A packet of “Important Information for Registered Campers” (including the Parent Consent & Waiver Form and Concussion Information Form) will be posted online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the workshop. This packet will not be separately mailed to dancers.

Please check your email regularly, as this is our primary method of communication with campers and their parents.

REFUNDS
A full refund less the $150 non-refundable deposit will be issued for any cancellation received by at least 2 weeks prior to the start of each camp session. The non-refundable deposit and 3% online processing fee are not refundable for ANY reason.

Because we have to guarantee our number of campers in order to prepare for camp, any cancellation received less than 2 weeks prior to the start of each camp session will not be eligible for any refund except in the case of injury, illness, or mandatory school event, in which case supporting documentation from a doctor or school is required.

A camp fee may not be transferred to any other Ohio State sports camp. A camp fee may not be transferred to any other camper. All cancellation notices must be received by the deadline above and submitted by mail, email, or fax – no phone calls or voicemails. All supporting documentation required for a refund to be approved and processed must be submitted within 10 days after the conclusion of the camp session. Refund requests must be submitted on the Refund Request Form available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps. Campers who are injured while at camp but remain at camp will not be eligible for any refund.
