COLUMBUS, Ohio – Caitlin Insana has joined the Ohio State women’s volleyball staff as the Director of Operations, announced head coach Geoff Carlston this week. Insana previously served as a Buckeye student assistant coach for three seasons (2010-12) and has been a central Ohio club volleyball coach since moving to Columbus five years ago.

“So great to have Caitlin back with us again,” Carlston said. “When we found out that our Director of Operations position was going to become full-time this season, Caitlin was one of the first people I thought of. She is passionate about our program and really an awesome person.”

Insana has guided three club teams in earning bids to the Girls Junior Nationals, twice with Elite Volleyball and most recently coaching for Mintonette Sports. She also spent a season as varsity assistant for Gahanna Lincoln High School.

In three years as the Buckeye student assistant coach, Insana helped the Scarlet & Gray win at least one match in three consecutive NCAA Tournaments, including a pair of ‘Sweet 16’ appearances. Ohio State averaged nearly 23 wins a season with an overall winning percentage of .642 (68-38) during her previous stint with the Buckeyes.

Prior to arriving in Columbus, Insana enrolled at High Point University in North Carolina as a student-athlete following an impressive high school and club volleyball career. Her playing career was cut short due to injury, however, and the Clevelander transferred to Ohio State to begin her sophomore year of college.

Insana graduated from The Ohio State University in 2013 with a Sport Industry degree. She then sharpened her organizational, planning and time management skills as a wedding and event planner in Hilliard, Ohio.
