COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s soccer team recently completed its spring schedule with a 3-2 record. Ohio State, playing the majority of its spring slate without standout sophomores Nichelle Prince and Lindsay Agnew because of Canadian U-20 camp, picked up wins over Cleveland State, Bowling Green and Ohio and gained valuable expeience to a young roster in its two-month spring session.
The Buckeyes, looking to replace five seniors from 2103, including three senior starters, picked up a 4-2 win over the Vikings to open the spring Feb. 15 in Columbus. Prince and Kayla Varner each tallied two goals in the win while Marisa Wolf and Nicole Miyashiro earned assists. Ohio State then topped Bowling Green, 3-0, March 1 in Columbus. Prince picked up a first-half goal while Alexis Degler and Wolf found the back of the net in the second half.
After a 1-0 setback at Louisville March 29, the Buckeyes defeated Ohio, 3-1, April 5 behind a pair of goals from Wolf before dropping a 3-0 decision at West Virginia April 12 to wrap up the spring slate.
Ohio State opens its 2014 campaign Aug. 22 against Duke in Chapel Hill, N.C. after an Aug. 16 scrimmage at Wake Forest.
