Columbus, Ohio – Ohio State posted a pair of exhibition victories Sunday in the final day of action at the 11th annual Collegiate Charity Classic held at Fred Beekman Park.

The Buckeyes downed Ohio 8-0 in a five-inning contest, then defeated Wright State 8-2 in the second game.

Ohio State started the scoring in the first inning, when Caitlin Conrad led off with a walk, advanced on a single by Alicia Herron, then scored on a bad throw by the catcher to second base.

In the second inning, Ohio State scored six runs. Megan Coletta led off with a single, then came around on a two-run homer by Danielle LeBeau. Consecutive walks to Melania Saalfeld, Conrad and Taylor Watkins set the table for a grand slam home run by Herron. A leadoff homer by Shelby Pickett in the fifth inning concluded the scoring.

Mikayla Endicott pitched five complete innings versus Ohio, allowing only one hit and one walk while striking out three Bobcat batters.

In the 8-2 victory over Wright State, an Evelyn Carrillo single drove in Watkins in the first inning. In the third inning, Conrad doubled, followed by a single by Watkins and an RBI single by Herron scoring Conrad. A single by Carrillo brought home Watkins and Herron.

In the fourth inning, Maddy McIntyre reached on an error and Leesa Gresham walked. A bases-loaded walk to Anne McGowan and a single by Conrad scored McIntyre and Gresham.

pitched four innings against Wright State, allowing three hits while striking out three. Olivia O’Reilly allowed four hits in 2.2 innings of work, and Kasie Kelly pitched to one batter, recording the final out.

The Charity Classic concludes the fall softball exhibition season.
