COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s hockey team will kick off its 2017-18 campaign with an exhibition game vs. the South Korean Olympic Team. The squads will face off at 7 p.m. Sept. 26 in OSU Ice Rink. Admission is free.
“We are excited to welcome the South Korea National Team to campus later this month,” Nadine Muzerall, the Buckeyes’ head coach, said. ”We truly appreciate them stopping in Columbus while they are in America facing college programs. We are grateful for the opportunity to play against a team that will be on the Olympic stage. The Buckeyes wish them success as they host the 2018 Olympic Games.”
South Korea, which is coached by Sarah Murray, a teammate of Muzerall when the two played professionally in Switzerland, will host 12 women’s hockey teams in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games Feb. 10-25 at the Gangneung Coastal Cluster.
The exhibition game vs. the South Korean National Team precedes the Buckeyes’ series vs. Rensselaer to open the regular season. The Buckeyes and Engineers will meet at 6:07 p.m. Sept. 29 and at 3:07 p.m. Sept. 30. Both games will be played in OSU Ice Rink, with free admission.
