COLUMBUS, Ohio – Seven current and former Buckeyes will be competing on the world’s stage at the 2018 Pan American Championships in Havana, Cuba from June 15-20. The Buckeyes will be representing four different countries.
Marc-Antoine Blais Belanger (men’s epee), Gabriela Cecchini (women’s foil), and Jax Diaz-Miranda (men’s epee) are the current Ohio State fencers who will be competing at the event. This past season, Blais Belanger, who will be representing Canada, finished as the 2018 NCAA Champion in men’s epee. In her first NCAA Championship appearance, Cecchini earned an All-American finish, placing eighth overall. She will be fencing for Brazil. Diaz-Miranda, who will be competing for the Dominican Republic, saw competition in the OSU Open and helped the men’s epee squad to a first place finish at the 2018 MFC Championships.
