COLUMBUS, Ohio— The Ohio State women’s golf finished the first round of competition at the Bryan National Collegiate Friday in a tie for eighth with a 14-over 302. The Buckeyes and the rest of the 18-team field will kick off round two Saturday at 8:30 a.m. ET on the par 72, 6,386-yard Bryan Park Champions Course in Greensboro, N.C.

No. 3 Duke leads the field after day one with a 4-over 292. Three individuals in Duke’s Laetitia Beck, Virginia’s Portland Rosen and Michigan State’s Kelly Grassel are tied for first on the individual leaderboard with a 2-under 70.

Leading the way for the Buckeyes on day one was freshman Jessica Porvasnik and junior Claudia Lim. The pair is tied for 25th overall with a 3-over 75. Porvasnik, of Hinckley, Ohio, had two birdies on the day, while Lim finished with 13 pars.

Freshmen Katja Pogacar and Zoe-Beth Brake rank tied for 35th each as both came in with a 4-over 76. Pogacar also totaled 13 pars and added a birdie on the day.

Senior Allison Harper withdrew from competition because of injury.

The second round of the Bryan National Collegiate is set for an 8:30 ET shotgun start Saturday. The tournament features 13 of 18 teams ranked in the Top 50 according the Golfweek.
