No. 21 Ohio State led by junior In Hong Lim

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 21st-ranked Ohio State women’s golf team battled a tough field that featured 19 teams ranked in the top 50 of the Golfweek/Sagarin and took 10th place with a total of 931 (+67) Sunday in Athens, Ga. The Buckeyes concluded the tournament with their best team score of 305 on the par 72, 6,335-yard University of Georgia Golf Course.

Sixth-ranked Duke claimed both the team and individual titles, winning by 21 stokes with a score of 889 (+25) while Lindy Duncan was the medalist at 3-under 213.

The round of the day for Ohio State was turned in by freshman Rachel Rohanna. Starting on the ninth tee, the Waynesburg, Pa., native was 5-over through her first six holes, but settled down and made par on her next four. She had a birdie on hole 1 and then collected three birdies in a row from Nos. 5-7 before a bogey on her final hole for a round of 2-over 74. It was the best round of the tournament for Rohanna, who tied for 47th at 235.

The top Buckeye finisher was junior In Hong Lim, who tied for 26th with a total of 230 after closing with a 79. Behind her was freshman Amy Meier in a tie for 37th after shooting a 78 en route to a sum of 234.

Rounding out the OSU lineup were sophomore Vicky Villanueva, tying for 58th at 237, and senior captain Emma Jandel, tying for 69th at 239. Both shot their best scores of the event during their final rounds, with 77 and 76, respectively.

Also competing in Athens was freshman Susana Benavides as an individual. She tied for 78th with a total of 240.

Up next for Ohio State, the team faces a quick turnaround with a trip to Greensboro, N.C., to compete in the Bryan National Collegiate April 2-4.
