Columbus, Ohio  –Nick Demaline, Nick Gray and Sade Olatoye all gained the title of Big Ten Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. Gray was named Track Athlete of the Week, while Demaline and Olatoye were both named Field Athletes of the Week.

In the 60m dash, Gray clocked the second-best time in the nation with a personal-best time of 6.66. Gray’s personal-best time and second-fastest time in Ohio State history hailed in to also break a French Field House record; the time of 6.66 broke Anthony Cole’s record (6.69) from 2007.

Olatoye, a native from Dublin, Ohio, set an Ohio State record in the shot put with a heave of 17.34 (56-10.75). In addition to setting a school record in the shot put, the junior also claimed gold in the weight throw with a toss of 21.32m. Olatoye holds the leading spot in the Big Ten in both shot put and weight throw.

Demaline struck gold when he registered the No. 1 shot put throw in the nation to open up the indoor season. His NCAA leading throw is .64 meters better than the second-best throw in the nation.

All three athletes will be heading to Kentucky to compete in the Kentucky Invitational this weekend (Jan. 12-13).
