COLUMBUS, Ohio – Pete Hanson, head coach of the Ohio State men’s volleyball program, enters his 32nd season at the helm with his Buckeyes slotted sixth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Preseason Poll. It marks Ohio State’s highest preseason ranking since being tabbed sixth to start the 2000 season as well.

Four Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) institutions can be found in the Top-15 while IPFW is also receiving votes. Third-ranked Loyola leads the conference charge, followed by No. 6 Ohio State, No. 8 Lewis and No. 14 Ball State.

The Buckeyes ironically get the 2016 campaign started on the last day of 2015, hosting McMaster University in a New Years Eve exhibition match on Dec. 31 inside St. John Arena. Ohio State will then face McMaster again two days later (Jan. 2) for the official beginning of the 2016 regular season.
