COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State (14-5) rifle team shot an aggregate score of 4,619 last weekend in a NCAA Collegiate Sectional hosted by the Buckeyes at the Lt. Hugh W. Wylie Range in Converse Hall. Also competing in the meet were Akron (4,562) and Purdue (3,886). OSU posted meet highs of 2,319 in air rifle and 2,300 in smallbore rifle.

In the individual events, OSU’s Amanda Furrer was the top shooter in air rifle with a 584. Juan Gaucin was second at 583 with Daniel Chapman third at 579. In smallbore rifle, Furrer took first shooting a 585. Amanda Luoma was second at 576.

The NCAA will announce, on Feb. 21, the teams that will advance to the NCAA Championship hosted by Columbus State in Columbus, Ga. and Ft. Benning, Ga. Small bore competition will be held March 11 and air rifle, March 12.
