COLUMBUS, Ohio – Twelve current and former Ohio State student-athletes received their degrees at summer quarter commencement Sunday in the Schottenstein Center.

Among the graduates are the top two all-time leading scorers in Ohio State women’s hockey history and a women’s soccer All-American who helped lead her squad to the NCAA College Cup.

Natalie Spooner and Laura McIntosh graduate as two of the Ohio State women’s hockey team’s most prolific players in the program’s history. The pair sit on top of Ohio State’s career points list with McIntosh, a sport and leisure studies major, leading the way with 170 and nutrition major Spooner in second at 163. McIntosh is the only Buckeye to amass over 100 assists in a career and concluded her four years with 123. Spooner became the first Buckeye to hit the 100 career goals mark and leaves Ohio State with that exact number. Their performance in the always tough WCHA also have them on top of Ohio State records list. The duo are first in second in points (McIntosh with 136 and Spooner with 122), while Spooner has a program-best 75 career goals and McIntosh leads all Buckeyes with 98 career assists against conference opponents.

Paige Maxwell, a 2010 NSCAA third team All-American and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, finished her career fifth on the program’s points list with 70 and scored 29 goals to rank fourth all-time. Maxwell, who earns her degree in textiles and clothing, helped Ohio State to its first NCAA College Cup appearance in 2010, leading the Buckeyes and tying for second in the Big Ten with 10 goals. That season, Maxwell tallied a team-high 22 points to tie for fourth in the Big Ten while leading the Buckeyes with five game-winning goals.
