BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Ohio State stretched its win streak to five meets and has topped its last nine opponents after a 196.125 triumph over Bowling Green (195.400) and No. 24 Central Michigan (195.375) Sunday afternoon. It is the first win over a ranked opponent this season.

“It was a loud and crazy environment this afternoon and a great learning experience as we head down the stretch,” head coach Meredith Paulicivic said. “We got to start on beam, which is different. They did a good job and just kept building from there. We really weren’t looking at scores today and tried to stay focused on doing our job, but scoring better than 196 and getting a road win is never a bad thing.”

The Buckeyes won two events, vault (49.025) and uneven bars (49.325), while coming in second on balance beam (48.700) and floor exercise (49.075). The team’s 49.325 on bars tied the season high set back on Jan. 27.

Ohio State started the afternoon on balance beam, where Amanda Huang and Jenna Swartzentruber each posted a team-best 9.825.

The Buckeyes moved on to floor exercise for the second rotation. Stefanie Merkle tied for second with a 9.875, while Brooke Chesney and Olivia Aepli placed fourth (9.825).

Next on the agenda was vault. Morgan Lowe finished second behind a 9.850. Kaitlyn Hofland tied her season’s best with a score of 9.775.

Ohio State concluded the tri-meet on uneven bars. Alexis Mattern scored a career-high 9.900 to earn a first-place finish. Huang was close behind with a career mark of her own on a 9.875. Nevin Adamski tallied a 9.850, a career best, and Aepli tied her season-high 9.850.

The Buckeyes will make their way to No. 9 Kentucky on Friday, Mar. 2 at 7 p.m. ET.
