COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s cross country team hits the road for the second-consecutive weekend this Saturday, Oct. 4, when it travels to Louisville, Ky., for the Greater Louisville Classic.

The men of the Scarlet and Gray are set to face 29 teams at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park Saturday morning. Ohio State will bring eight athletes to Louisville, led by freshmen Nick Elswick.

The Buckeyes are scheduled to run in the Gold competition at 9:30 a.m. ET. A complete recap will be available following the race at www.OhioStateBuckeyes.com.

Buckeyes Ranked 10th in Great Lakes Regional Rankings
OSU dropped to 10th place in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Great Lakes regional rankings after a disappointing performance at the Roy Griak Invitational last Saturday.

Seventh-ranked Indiana is the top-ranked team in the region. No. 11 Wisconsin, No. 19 Michigan, No. 30 Michigan State and Butler round out the Top 5.

Last Time Out
Elswick finished 23rd overall at the Roy Griak Invitational Sept. 27 in Falcon Heights, Minn., highlighting the Ohio State effort at the 31-team event.

Elswick completed his race in an 8k time of 25:32.2, finishing second overall among freshmen in the field behind Colorado State’s Jerrell Mock (seventh, 24:59.6).

As a team, Ohio State totaled a score of 533 overall to place 22nd. Southern Utah was the champion with 142 team points, led by individual titlist Nate Jewkes.
