COLUMBUS, Ohio –Ohio State moved to sixth in the latest (Feb. 7) American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I-II Men’s Coaches Top 15 Poll. OSU received 151 points in the poll and is the highest ranked team in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. It is the highest the Buckeyes have been ranked since the end of the 2000 season when they were ranked fourth. Ball State is ranked 13th and Lewis 14th in the poll with Loyola-Chicago receiving votes. Southern California is ranked first in the poll. The Buckeyes opened the season ranked seventh.
The sixth-ranked Buckeyes (6-2 overall, 1-0 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) begin a three-match home stand starting Wednesday against ninth-ranked Penn State (7-2, 2-0 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association). The home stand continues Thursday and Friday against Quincy (3-3, 0-0 MIVA). The three matches begin at 7 p.m. each night in St. John Arena.
