CONWAY, S.C. – The Ohio State University women’s golf team shaved eight strokes off its team total between Round 1 and Round 2, posting a 290 on Saturday after starting with a 298. At 12-over through 36 holes, the Buckeyes are among a four-way tie for eighth place in the 17-team competition.
Jessica Porvasnik is battling for a Top-10 individual finish, tied for eighth place out of 94 players. Her 2-over tally is better than 20 players ranked inside Golfstat’s Top-100 national rankings and just two strokes back from the event’s Top-5. Porvasnik shot even par on Day Two, coming on the heels of her 2-under 70 on Friday. She has excelled in Par-3 scoring, pacing all player with a 3-under sum on such holes.
Katja Pogacar and Rio Watanabe both dipped under par in the second round, registering 71’s. Watanabe jumped 20 spots up into a share of 31st place while Pogacar climbed 27 slots and is tied for 35th overall.
