COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State freshman Will Dudley and sophomore Shamar Herron will both be unavailable to Buckeye men’s basketball coach Jim O’Brien after the pair suffered injuries Sunday during practice.

Dudley, a 6-9 forward from Brooklyn, N.Y., grabbed a rebound and rolled his ankle fracturing the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot, Mike Bordner, OSU men’s basketball trainer, said.

Dudley will be out of the OSU lineup for 4-6 weeks. He will be examined by Dr. Grant Jones, the orthopedic surgeon who works with the men’s basketball team, before the Buckeyes face Purdue Tuesday. Jones will then determine if additional treatment or surgery is needed.

Herron, a 6-9 forward from Detroit, Mich., slipped on some moisture on the floor and strained his right ankle, injuring tendons on the inside of his right ankle, Bordner said. His status will be game-to-game.
