COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s soccer team, after reaching the first College Cup in program history last season, has been hard at work this spring in preparation for the 2011 campaign. The Buckeyes already have played a pair of spring exhibitions, one against the Western New York Flash of Women’s Professional Soccer and the other against the University of Louisville.

Ohio State and the Flash played to a 1-1 draw March 27 and the Buckeyes and Cardinals finished 2-2 last Saturday in Columbus. Against Louisville, Ohio State built a 2-0 first half lead on goals by Aly Walker and Kristen Niederhaus but the Cardinals came back with a pair of goals for the draw.

The Buckeyes will be back in action against 2010 College Cup champion Notre Dame, at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Athletes in Action complex in Xenia, Ohio. The two teams matched up in the College Cup semifinals last season, a 1-0 Notre Dame victory.
