The No. 13 Ohio State women’s volleyball team is set to open Big Ten play this weekend against closely-ranked opponents. The undefeated Buckeyes (12-0) are scheduled to play No. 10 Michigan (10-1) at 8 p.m. Friday and No. 15 Michigan State (11-1) Sunday at 2 p.m..

Women’s soccer hands Indiana first loss of the season

After tallying just two goals in its last two games, the Ohio State women’s soccer team netted two goals in the first 18 minutes en route to a 3-1 win over Indiana. The Hoosiers surrendered all three scores before halftime Thursday, allowing one more goal than they had in all of their previous matches of the season combined.

An NCAA rule change last spring expanded the time in which Division I men’s teams can conduct preseason practice, from mid-October previously to, now, six weeks before the season opener.
