Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field program will open up its 2018 outdoor slate this Friday and Saturday at the Black & Gold Challenge hosted by the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla.
The two-day meet will feature 21 teams in addition to Ohio State. The Buckeyes will be competing against the host, UCF, Florida State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky and USF amongst others.
Outdoor All-Americans for Ohio State that return for the 2018 season are Nick Gray, Asa Burke, Maggie Barrie, Nick Demaline, Karrington Winters, Beatrice Hannan and Zack Bazile. This is the first of 11 outdoor meets the Buckeyes will compete at between now and early June.
Action gets started on Friday at 11 a.m. ET with the women’s javelin throw. The first track event of the meet will be the women’s 1500m run at 6:20 p.m. ET. It’ll be an early start for the women’s discus throw on Saturday with a 10 a.m. ET start, and the women’s 4×100 meter relay will get the track schedule going on Saturday.
