COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State men’s hockey sophomores Tom Fritsche, Ian Keserich and Domenic Maiani helped lead Team Blue to a 2-0 record at USA Hockey’s National Junior Evaluation Camp this week in Lake Placid, N.Y. Play resumes Friday, with Team Blue facing Finland at 4 p.m. in Herb Brooks Arena. Saturday, Team Blue will take on Sweden at 1 p.m.

The camp including 42 under-20 athletes eligible for a spot on the 2006 U.S. National Junior Team, with the athletes split into two teams (Blue and White).

In USA Blue’s 5-3 win over Finland Tuesday, Fritsche (Parma, Ohio) had an assist, while Keserich (Parma, Ohio) made 16 saves on 17 shots in 29:26. Wednesday, Team Blue won, 8-2. Fritsche had two helpers, Maiani (Shelby Township, Mich.) posted an assist and Keserich allowed one goal on 17 shots in 30:07.

The other U.S. team, Team White, also is 2-0. The squad beat Sweden 5-0 and Finland 4-0.
