%^$ “We are very excited about playing Cincinnati four times over an eight-year period,” Ohio State Director of Athletics Andy Geiger said. “This will give us a tremendous opportunity to reach out to the thousands of fans and our alumni base in Cincinnati and the southern part of the state. It will be exciting playing in the Cincinnati Bengals new stadium in 2002, and we are thrilled about having seven home games at Ohio Stadium next year. Any time we have an opportunity to get seven home games, we’ll do it. It opens up another opportunity for our fans to take in a game in Columbus.” %^$

%^$”Cincinnati is an in-state school and anytime you play another university from your state there is a lot of fan interest, a lot of enthusiasm and the two teams really get up for the game,” said Ohio State coach John Cooper. “Four games in eight years will really generate some excitement and enthusiasm in the state, and I am pleased that three of those games will be played in Ohio Stadium.” %^$
