COLUMBUS, Ohio – Competing on the par 72, 6,335-yard University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga., the Ohio State women’s golf team opened the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic with a score of 300.

Scored using a team best ball format, the three-day, 54-hole tournament is currently led by Purdue who fired a 284 in round one. With scores of 2-under 70, Duke’s Aleja Cangrejo and Florida State’s Hannah Thomson currently sit atop the individual leaderboard.

Leading the Buckeyes is sophomore Amy Meier who is tied for 12th after a round of 74. Throughout the round, the Rochester Hills, Mich., native tallied four birdies.

Notching a birdie on hole No. 10 en route to her score of 78, senior co-captain In Hong Lim is tied for 59th.

Carding scores of 81, sophomore co-captain Rachel Rohanna and junior Vicky Villanueva are currently tied for 93rd.

Also competing for the Buckeyes is junior Nara Shin who is tied for 110th at 84.

The second round of the competitive tournament which features 19 teams in the Top 50 will take place tomorrow with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
