UNCG JUMPS OUT TO SIX-RUN LEAD
The Spartans scored two runs in the second, third and fourth innings to take 6-0 lead through four frames. A costly error with two outs in the top of the second scored the first run before a two-out RBI single by Ben Spitznagel made it 2-0. In the third, Tripp Shelton homered with a runner on base to push the score to 4-0. In the top of the fourth, the bases were loaded after two walks and a bunt single by Caleb Webster. A RBI single through the right side by Andrew Moritz scored the fifth run before a safety squeeze play made it 6-0.

BO GETS THE BOYS ON THE BOARD
Coolen scored the first Buckeye run of the evening in the bottom of the fourth with a line-drive single to right center to plate Canzone. The OSU rookie had an infield single and stole second base to set up the play.

SPARTANS ADD ANOTHER
The UNCG bats continued to swing and recorded another run with two outs. A single up the middle on a 0-2 count by Ryne Sigmon made it 7-1.

OHIO STATE SCORES THREE IN THE FIFTH
The Scarlet and Gray cut their deficit to three runs in the fifth on three hits vs. left-handed starter Bryce Hensely. After two walks, Gantt lined a single to right center to score fifth-year senior left fielder Shea Murray. A wild pitch then scored senior co-captain Jalen Washington to make it 7-3. Canzone ripped the first pitch he saw off Hensley to drive in Gantt from second base and chalk the fourth and final OSU run.

SPARTANS STRIKE BACK
UNCG answered right back with four runs in the top of the sixth to open up the game, 11-4. A sac fly and throwing error plated two runs. RBI singles by Shelton and Ryan Clinch scored the 10th and 11th runs.
