COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State doubles team of Ralf Steinbach and Kevin Metka battled into the round of 16 at the Saint Francis Health Systems ITA All-American Championship but fell on Friday to the team of Gonzales Austin and Rhys Johnson of Vanderbilt.   The Vanderbilt duo worked its way through the qualifier and won the first match in the main draw in straight sets. Steinbach and Metka also won their first match in straight sets on Thursday, knocking off Axel Alvarez and Dane Webb of Oklahoma.   That setup Friday’s matchup in the second round. The first set turned out to be the decider as Austin and Johnson took the opener in a tie-break. The momentum was completely on the side of the Vanderbilt duo as they would end up winning the second set and the match 6-1.   The Buckeyes will return to action in a couple of weeks at the ITA Midwest Regionals in Ann Arbor, Mich. Play begins on Oct. 16 and runs through Oct. 20. Draws will be announced later this month.
