COLUMBUS, Ohio–The Ohio State men’s basketball team wrapped up presseason play with an 80-77 loss in overtime to the EA Sports All-Stars in exhibition action Thursday in front of 12,515 at Value City Arena. Sophomore forward Terence Dials led the Buckeyes with 18 points while sophomore guard J.J. Sullinger added 17.

The Buckeyes shot 53.3 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 43-39 lead at the intermission. EA Sports (3-7) then held Ohio State to a 32.4 percent shooting clip in the second half and the All-Stars’ Greg Grays’ 3-pointer with nine seconds remaining in regulation sent the game into overtime, where the Buckeyes were outscored 11-8.

Tony Stockman sank 5-of-11 3-pointers in the contest for his 15 points. Matt Sylvester also added 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Dials grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, while senior Velimir Radinovic added eight boards.

Ohio State outrebounded EA Sports 51-41, but went 9-for-18 from the free throw line.

The Buckeyes end exhibition play with a 1-1 record, falling in preseason action for the first time since a 70-51 loss to Marathon in 1997.

The Buckeyes will open regular season play at San Francisco Nov. 21, before competing in the EA Sports Maui Invitational Nov. 24-26.
