COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State pistol team hosted the Midwest Collegiate Sectional and posted a 6,287 open aggregate score. Michigan State shot a 5,306 in the competition. Akron and Purdue were scheduled to compete but were unable due to the weather. Those squads will compete at Ohio State on Feb. 20 to shoot qualifying scores. Teams advancing to the Collegiate National Championship, March 16-20 at Ft. Benning, Georgia will be announced Feb. 24.

Ohio State’s Rob Deppi finished first in the standard (538) and air (551) and was second in free pistol (507). Kelsey Imig was first in free pistol with a 513 score and finished second in standard with a 531. Erin Meadows, with a 551, took second place in air pistol.

In the women’s events, Ohio State, the defending national champion, shot a 2,716 aggregate score. Imig posted a meet-high 553 in women’s sport and was second in women’s air with a 366. Meadows was first in women’s air with a 370 and was second in women’s sport shooting a 544.

Ohio State closes out the regular season Feb. 20 by hosting Akron and Purdue.
