COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team finished action at the Illini Spring Classic Sunday on the par 72, 7,048-yard Stone Creek Golf Club in Urbana, Ill. The Scarlet and Gray ended in eighth place after a final-round score of 296 for a two-day total of 608 (+32) after weather forced the tournament to be shortened from 54 holes to 36.

The event was won by Akron with a two-round total of 583 (+7), 10 strokes better than second-place host Illinois at 593 (+17).  William Sjaichudin of Purdue took medalist honors with rounds of 70-73 – 143 (-1) to finish alone in the top spot. Sjaichudin was the only golfer to finish under par.
