COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State Friday unveiled its 2012-13 women’s basketball schedule, which tips off Friday, Nov. 9 against NCAA runner-up Notre Dame in the 2012 Carrier Classic on the USS Yorktown in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., in Charleston Harbor.

After taking on the Irish, the Buckeyes return to Columbus for their home opener Nov. 14 against Cincinnati, followed by home dates with Winthrop (Nov. 17), Saint Francis (Nov. 20) and Wright State (Nov. 25). Ohio State then hits the road to face North Carolina in the 2012 ACC/Big Ten in Chapel Hill, N.C., Nov. 28.

After home dates with Evansville and Lafayette, Ohio State will head west for games at Washington State and Gonzaga in the span of three days. The Buckeyes then close out the non-conference portion of the schedule with Southern University (Dec. 21), VCU (Dec. 27) and Howard (Dec. 30).

The 16-game Big Ten portion of the schedule tips off Jan. 3 at Iowa with the Big Ten home opener against Illinois Jan. 6. Ohio State will only play the Hawkeyes and Northwestern once on the road and will host Purdue and Penn State at home.

The 2013 Big Ten Women’s Tournament this season shifts from Indianapolis to the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Ill., located just north of Chicago. Games will be played March 7-10.

Ohio State returns four starters from last year’s team, including first team All-Big Ten performer Tayler Hill and Big Ten defensive player of the year Amber Stokes, along with 12 letterwinners.
