Collegeville, Pa., signs national letter of intent

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Carey Fagan, Ohio State women’s gymnastics head coach, happily announced the addition of Sarah Miller, a native of Collegeville, Pa., to the 2011 Buckeye squad Friday.

“Sarah is going to have an immediate impact on the team this upcoming season,” Fagan said. “She has worked very hard during her senior year and we are anxious for Sarah to start with us this summer. She has the ability to be an All-American on vault, beam and floor.”

Miller has competed as a Level 10 Gymnast for the last four years while training at Berks East Gymnastics. She is a 2009 Region 7 All-Around Champion and placed in the Top 10 on beam, floor and vault at the Junior Olympic National Qualifier. That same season, Miller won the Pennsylvania state title on both vault and floor.

“Sarah is one of the most dynamic vaulters I have ever seen,” Fagan said. “It is rare for gymnasts in the Junior Olympic Program to score a near-perfect 9.9, and Sarah has accomplished this on numerous occasions.

“This freshman class is full of talent and great scoring potential; and with the return of several of our injured athletes from last season, we are looking forward to a brighter 2011 season.”
