COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two members of the 2000-01 Ohio State women’s ice hockey team have been selected to play for the Women’s Under-22 Select Team in a three-game exhibition series with Canada, Aug. 24-28, in Calgary, Alberta.

Returning goalie Melissa Glaser (So., Rockford, Il./St. Mark’s School) and newcomer Kelli Halcisak (Fr., Grosse Ille, Mich./Shattuck St. Mary’s) earned spots on the team, which was compiled following the USA Women’s Hockey Festival last week. Halcisak was a member of the gold-medal winning team at the festival, which was held in Lake Placid, N.Y. Aug. 15-20.

Two other Western Collegiate Hockey Association- Women’s League teams placed players on the U.S. Under-22 team. Ronda Curtin, Laura Slminski and Courtney Kennedy of Minnesota and Jackie MacMillan of Wisconsin are the other WCHA representatives.

National team coach Ben Smith, who led the U.S. women’s team to a gold medal at the 1998 Olympics, will coach the team and former Wisconsin head coach Julie Sasner will serve as his assistant.
