2015 Summer Graduates 

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sunday, 21 current and former Ohio State student-athletes will receive their degrees at summer semester commencement in the Schottenstein Center. The ceremony, which begins at 1 p.m., will be streamed online: commencement.osu.edu

The summer 2015 graduates include conference champions and players of the year, as well as members of conference championship squads.

Chris Hegngi, a consumer and family financial services major, was the 2011 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and a four-year starter for the men’s soccer team. A two-time All-Big Ten selection, Hegngi played in all 79 career games, making 77 starts and had 18 goals and 11 assists to his credit.

A native of Columbus and Bishop Hartley High School, Aisha Cavin is a seven-time All-American and five-time Big Ten champion for the women’s track and field team. She was a 2012 First Team All-American in the 4×100-meter relay and in 2015 won the Big Ten outdoor title in the 200-meter dash. She will have a year of eligibility remaining with the Buckeyes this coming season.

David Planning, who will receive his degree in operations management, played in 61 career games for the men’s lacrosse team, earning 50 consecutive starts for his final three years. A finalist for the Senior CLASS Award, he scored six goals in an opening-round NCAA Tournament victory against Duke this past spring. For his career, Planning had 60 goals and 34 assists (94 points) while playing on two squads (2013, 2015) that advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals. In 2014, Planning was a second team All-ECAC choice.

Kaitlyn Wagner, from Oley, Pa., served as a captain of the field hockey team in 2015 and achieved career-highs in every major statistical category – goals (six), assists (one), points (13) and shots (15). A Big Ten All-Tournament team selection, Wagner was a four-year starter who played in 76 career games. She will earn her degree in environmental science.
