How did you decide to come to OSU?
Ohio State was one of the first schools to contact me in my freshman year of high school. Once I started the process of deciding where I wanted to go I knew that I wanted a big school with a lot of tradition and school spirit. When I visited Ohio State I was blown away. I wanted to be a part of something and I saw a promising future in the hockey program, the campus is amazing and the amount of tradition and pride on campus is like nothing else,I could not be any happier with my decision to be a Buckeye.

How long have you been doing your sport?
I started skating when I was four years old and started playing in a girls hockey league when I was 7 years old!

Do you have any pre-game/match superstitions or rituals?
I am extremely superstitious. I go to Tim Hortons before every game and get an extra large coffee with one milk. Once I am at the rink and done warm ups I do not talk to anyone when I am tying my skates. I put my pants on after I tie my skates (really weird) and I need to put all my left side equipment on before my right side. Once I am on the ice I always step on the ice with my left foot first and I am always the last person to get off after warm ups.

What is your favorite part about your sport?
I absolutely adore hockey. It is such an incredible sport and I love the team aspect of it. I have met my best friends through hockey and I love coming to the rink everyday and having a second family.

What is the hardest thing about sport?
The hardest thing about my sport is the mental aspect. Hockey is both physically and mentally draining and demanding. It is very easy to get inside your own head when things are not going your way and as an elite athlete it is essential that we are able to control our emotions.

How do you balance athletics and academics?
The transition from high school to university and balancing both hockey and academics was definitely different. I was always a good student in high school and did a good job balancing however in university both the athletic demand and school demand raised. I always make a calendar the first week of a new semester so I know everything I need to do, this helps me stay both organized and on track.

Why did you choose your major?
I came in as a freshman a psychology major however quickly realized I was not passionate about it enough to major in it. I recently change my major to sports industry and I am planning on minoring in both business and sociology. Being an athlete, I am extremely passionate about athletics and thus that is why I picked my major. The dream is to get a job working in athletics this varying from the NHL or athletic clothing.

What is your favourite study spot on campus?
I rarely study on campus however if I do I study at the union or at Panera close to the rink. Typically, I go to short north to study at a coffee shop!

What is your favourite class you have taken here so far?
My favourite class I have taken here so far is english. I have always loved english and I love how my class was so small and intimate and the material we covered was very interesting.

What is a fun fact about you that not many people know about?
A fun fact about me is that Justin Bieber follows me on twitter and I was born almost a month and a half early!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It would be sushi! I love sushi so much it is definitely my weakness

Who do you most admire and why?
I most admire both my mom and my dad. They have both been through so much in their lives however continue to amaze me everyday with what they have both accomplished. They are the two most selfless people and have been with me every step of my journey and I appreciate that more than they will ever know.

Describe OSU in one word.
Opportunistic.
