Buckeye Fall Sports Look Back: Football and Women’s Soccer


Two more Big Ten Championship trophies were added to the vault in Columbus. Football is no stranger to this feat, while women’s soccer won their regular season crown outright for the first time. Take a look back at their accomplishments this past season.

Football went 12-2 and captured their 36th Big Ten Championship.

J.T. Barrett continued to smash school and conference records.

Big Ten Championship Game MVP J.K. Dobbins broke the school record for rushing yards by a freshman in a season.

Down 15 points in the fourth quarter, OSU rallied and beat No. 2 Penn State 39-38.

The Buckeyes went up north and beat TTUN… again.

OSU finished the season strong, topping USC 24-7 in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.

Women’s soccer claimed their first outright Big Ten regular season title.

They started their season unbeaten in their first six games, going 5-0-1.

They later went on a six game conference win streak, scoring eight goals while allowing none.

Morgan Wolcott captured Big Ten Defender of the Year and All-American honors.

Lori Walker-Hock was a unanimous choice for Big Ten Coach of the Year.
