COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s cross country teams were honored as U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic teams for the 2010 season Thursday.
The Buckeye women’s team boasted a cumulative team GPA of 3.27, with the men’s side compiling a 3.17 overall GPA on a 4.0 scale. To be eligible to be an All-Academic squad, a team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
Individually, senior Ellen Birmingham and freshman Meredith Wagner were named to the USTFCCCA’S Division I Academic All-American team on the women’s side – the Scarlet and Gray, along with Indiana, were the only two Big Ten teams with more than two runners represented on the distinguished list.
