COLUMBUS, Ohio -The Ohio State women’s volleyball team will make three appearances on the Big Ten Network during the 2012 season, the network announced Friday.

The Buckeyes’ first televised contest will be at Minnesota, Sept. 28, at 8 p.m. ET. Home matches vs. Penn State (Oct. 17) and Northwestern (Nov. 7) will be broadcast beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

At least 50 matches featuring Big Ten schools are set to air on BTN and ESPN2 with each BTN broadcast also available at BTN2Go. BTN’s volleyball coverage also includes the BTN Volleyball Report, a new, weekly web-only show hosted by Mike Wolf.

The Buckeyes open the 2012 season hosting their own Sports Imports Classic, Aug. 24-25. Ohio State welcomes Houston, Toledo and Oregon to St. John Arena for the two-day tournament. Under the direction of five-year head coach Geoff Carlston, the Buckeyes look to capitalize on back-to-back NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances with help of five returning starters.
