Columbus, Ohio – The Buckeyes sent a group of distance runners to Raleigh, N.C. to compete in the Raleigh Relays. With over 120 different schools competing, the Buckeyes were able to walk away with a few nice showings to end day one of the meet.
Kevin Blank clocked a time of 3:47.43 in the men’s 1500m run. With over 120 athletes in his pool of competition, Blank was able to snag ninth.
Christine Frederick participated in the women’s 10k run, where she crossed the finish line with a time of 34:24.74. This time registers as the second fastest 10k time in Ohio State program history.
Sophomore Abby Nichols was also able to show off her talent while being able to clutch 26th in the women’s 5k run. Nichols’ competition was made up of more than 140 runners. Nichols hailed in with a personal best time of 16:31 in her track debut. Buckeye distance runner Luke Landis competed in the men’s 5k and placed 61st. Landis also competed against more than 140 athletes.
